Description:

“Resonant Realms: Unveiling Interconnected Parameters in Digital Space” is an immersive five-day workshop designed to push the boundaries of traditional architectural practice through the dynamic intersection of architecture, technology, and post humanist theory. Participants will delve into the fusion of digital and physical realms, leveraging advanced computational tools and augmented reality technology to create innovative, interactive, and immersive architectural designs. This workshop invites participants to explore new dimensions of design, fostering interconnectedness and coexistence in architectural spaces.

Learning Objectives :

  • Theoretical Foundation: Develop a comprehensive understanding of posthumanist theory and its implications for architecture. Participants will explore concepts of interconnectedness, coexistence, and the role of non-human entities in design.
  • Digital Materiality: Learn to manipulate digital materials and spatial configurations using Grasshopper. Understand the materiality of digital space and its application in architectural design.
  • Sonic Inquiries: Conduct sonic inquiries using Grasshopper’s Firefly plugin to explore the voices of various entities within chosen real-world locations. Use these inquiries to inform the design process, emphasizing the materiality and aural qualities of space.
  • Augmented Reality: Utilize the Fologram app to create and explore immersive environments in augmented reality. This interactive AR session will enable participants to blur the lines between physical and virtual spaces.
  • Multispecies Integration: Investigate the potential for architecture to mediate multispecies relationships. Learn to integrate multispecies elements into architectural designs, fostering a symbiotic relationship between humans, non-human entities, and the environment.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Gain a deep understanding of posthumanist architectural theory.
  • Develop practical skills in using Grasshopper, Firefly, and Fologram for architectural design.
  • Create immersive and interactive environments that challenge conventional architectural boundaries.
  • Learn to integrate multispecies considerations into design processes, promoting ecological interconnectedness and coexistence.
