Hanadi A. G. Salem is a professor of materials and manufacturing, Department of Mechanical Engineering. And the chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the American University in Cairo (AUC). She is the University senate vice-chair and a formal senate chair of the Faculty Affairs Committee. She is the founder of the Nanotechnology Master’s Program at AUC, and has served as the director of the program for five years since September 2010. She is also the founder and director of the Additive Manufacturing Centennial Lab (AMCL). She received her BSc and MSc degrees in materials science and engineering at AUC and received her PhD in mechanical engineering in the materials field from Texas A&M University 1997.
