I investigate possibilities to enhance the built environment through the use of technology. My research interests are computational design, natural systems, material systems, performance assessment and digital fabrication. My educational and professional expertise is based on different countries and cultures including UK, Germany and Turkey. In addition to my various peer-reviewed international publications, I hold three patents for my inventions in the US, UK and Turkey. My awards include two Gold Medals given by China Association of Inventions and Turkish Patent/Trademark Office, UK Alumni Awards in Professional Achievement by British Council and the Best PhD Dissertation Award of the Year by Istanbul Technical University (www.sevilyazici.com).
