Parametric Modelling in Architecture

-computational design,- environmental design,-interactive design | - online workshop | -English

Description:

Required Skills: basic knowledge of grasshopper/ Rhino

Required Software: rhino, grasshopper, Unity, Plug-ins: ladybug
Maximum number of participating students: 100

This is a workshop to share basic concepts of how to build a tower parametrically as an example of  a building with some solar building performance tests  and a virtual reality environment exploration. This how architects in the practical world develop their design through a process and parameter to manage the design and present to a client.

Instructors:

Amy ElShafei Amy gained a Bachelor of Science in Architecture Engineering at the American University in Cairo. She subsequently completed a masters in Adaptive Architecture and Computation at University College London. Amy has also taught in the American university in Cairo, Darmstadt University in Germany and Manchester University. Amy has been working in foster and partners for 7 years. Throughout her career, Amy has participated in the design of masterplans, school buildings, towers, metro stations, museums, stadiums and hospitals; including on-site work for a housing development. Amy’s experience in computational design has complemented her architecture and engineering background, allowing her to generate the most efficient design development methods.
