The Wormhole Gallery

-interactive design | - online workshop | -English

Description:

Required Skills: interest in programming, computational design

Required Software: Rhinoceros 7, Grasshopper, Blender, Glitch.com

Required Hardware: PC or MAC
Maximum number of participating students: 100

Wormholes are speculative structures in Physics that resemble a tunnel between two black holes or other points in space-time, providing a shortcut between its endpoints.  Workshop participants will try to make the concept a reality. They will work on projects of virtual landscapes, structures, and pavilions. Firstly, they will create designs of the spaces using computational design tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper. Secondly, students will prepare the projects for the web using Blender. Finally, they will work on the web pages for the created spaces, uploading 3D models online and programming user interaction with JavaScript, Three.js, and hosting everything on Glitch.com. In the end, we will gather all the projects into one virtual gallery that users can explore and enjoy.
