인공 지능의 발전과 범람으로 다양한 곳에서 인공지능이 사용되어지고 있고, 건축과 같은 창작 분야에서도 이 바람이 불고 있습니다. 초기에는 이미지를 베이스로 한 데이터 콜렉팅과 학습을 통하여 피쳐를 추출하고 재생산 하는 방식이었다면, 이제는 텍스트와 이미지를 합친 거대 multimodal의 등장으로 더 나은 퀄리티와 직관적인 사용성을 보여주고 있습니다. 특히, 달리2나 이번주에 공개된 imagen은 엄청난 데이터와 컴퓨팅 리소스를 활용하여 압도적인 성능을 보여주고 있으며, 심지어 이세상에 존재하지 않는 이미지인 ‘말을 탄 우주인’과 같은 이미지도 매우 현실적으로 생성해내는것을 볼 수 있습니다. 이러한 multimodal을 통하여 조금 더 직관적이고, 쉬우며, 상상하지 못한 결과를 이번 워크샵에서는 탐구해보고자 합니다. 많은 컴퓨터 리소스를 요구하지 않는, VQGAN과 Disco Difussion모델을 중심으로 이미지들을 생성, 변주, 변화 시켜보면서 인공지능 시대에 있어서 건축에서의 창의적인 활동의 가능성을 탐험해 볼 예정입니다.

Dongyun Kim | Dongyun Kim is an architectural and computational designer based in the United States. He completed his Master in Design Studies with a concentration in Technology at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Master of Science in Design at the University of Pennsylvania, and Bachelor of Architecture at Hongik University in Seoul, Korea. |

Hanjun Kim | Hanjun Kim is the associate of SoomeenHahm Design Ltd., an architectural designer and educator based in London. He is also a tutor at the Architectural Association Design Research Lab (AADRL) Master’s program in London and a coordinator of the AA Visiting School Seoul. He completed his Master of Architecture degree at the AADRL and his Bachelor’s degree at Hongik University in Seoul, Korea. |
